What’s this space all about?
Bodhisavage is a community for rewilding contemplative practice in the middle of real life. Wild as in alive, embodied, elemental.
It's rooted in the wisdom traditions of Dzogchen, Mahamudra, and Vajrayana, and shaped by the understanding that practice doesn't happen in a vacuum. It happens in a body, in a life, in a community, in a culture.
The Rhythm of Bodhisavage
Each month follows a moonly rhythm, giving us different ways to connect, reflect, and practice together:
🌑 New Moon: A kick-off essay to spark insight and inspiration.
🌓 Roam: A prompt to help us Wander! Wonder! Create!
🌕 Full Moon Sit: Join me live on Zoom for practice and connection.
🌗 Rest: A recorded meditation to relax, let go, leave be.
Curious where we’re going this year? Here’s the seasonal roadmap for 2026.
You’re invited to take what serves you and leave the rest (but leave them with kindness).
Who’s behind the curtain?
I'm Tasha Schumann, artist and contemplative teacher based in Toronto.
I’m a glorious mutt: a Jamaican-German-Canadian Buddhist Lama who teaches from the wisdom traditions of Tibet and India.
As an artist and music producer, I also spent a big chunk of my life inciting dance parties and mosh pits (New York Magazine’s The Cut once called my music “the perfect soundtrack for a molly-fueled bacchanal at the end of the world.”)
I stage dive less now… but nothing’s off the table 😉
Everything I teach is rooted in the lineages of Dzogchen, Mahamudra, and Vajrayana. I’m a lama in the cave yogi tradition. We’re radical and direct, not particularly linear… not particularly rigid… not particularly couth 🤷🏽♀️.
My work is also informed by a bunch of other modalities: I have a Psychology degree from the University of Toronto, am trained as a Contemplative End of Life Care practitioner (death doula), have worked in addictions and mental health, mentored artists and entrepreneurs, and I’m big into building contemplative systems for the now times.
I share practices that bring us into direct contact with the wisdom and magic and play of personhood throughout the lifespan. These are practices of liberation for our bodies, hearts, minds, and communities.
I teach like there’s wisdom hiding everywhere, and all of life is the practice.
